From acclaimed author Katie McGarry comes an explosive new tale of a good girl with a reckless streak, a street-smart guy with nothing to lose, and a romance forged in the fast lane

The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life-that's who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers...and she's just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker-a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can't get him out of her mind.

Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks-no matter how angelic she might look.

But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they'll go to save each other.

Katie McGarry is a genius. She is my absolute favorite YA contemporary writer everrrrr and she definitely deserves this title.

Rachel is definitely different from McGarry’s other heroines. She’s a bit on the quiet side, but she also has a really strict family. She’s the youngest in a group of four super protective boys. But she is hiding part of herself and Isaiah helps her break free. She may seem weak at times, but she really isn’t. She’s incredibly strong.

My god, Isaiah mighttt be my favorite McGarry boy. He is sexy with his tattoos and extremely protective of what’s his. His gray eyes…they make me swwooonnn. He’s also hard-working and I love that he has a direction in life, no matter how awful his life has been up until this point. I loved everything about him. He’s the best bad boy around.

Ethan is Rachel’s twin brother. I loved him and how much he had her back. My favorite brother is West though, which is good because his book is next! I’d love to have Logan’s story…hint, hint. Pretty please? Oooooh and I want Abby’s story as well. She really grew on me throughout the book.

The plot was awesome. I definitely didn’t know a ton about drag racing, but now I feel intrigued to learn more. The writing is top-notch with very distinct POV’s. The romance, as per McGarry’s usual, was blazing. Hot hot hot. They are definitely mature YA. :)

I really hope West’s book isn’t the last in this amazing companion series, but I am so excited for it!

Favorite Swoon-worthy Quote: Our lips crush together, our bodies pressed tight. An inferno of lips and hands and movements that continues to grow in heat. The blanket falls away as Rachel slides her legs so that she straddles me. On the verge of burning up completely, I groan and cling to her small frame. Her hands drift under my shirt, leaving a singeing trail. We’ve become a wildfire. Almost unstoppable. I kiss her neck and the beautiful sounds escaping her mouth encourage me futher.
